I would like to thank Northumbrian Water for their rapid and comprehensive response to what turned out to be a very complicated repair job after a sewage pipe was damaged by a third party working at Cat Nab Car Park in Saltburn.
A mini sewage treatment facility, built onsite by Northumbrian Water, was set up within 48 hours and undoubtedly mitigated against the damage to the environment.
The repair work is now complete along with the backfilling of the excavation and removal of equipment.
Richard Warneford, Wastewater Director at Northumbrian Water, said: “This has been a long and complex repair, but it is now complete. We would like to once again thank residents of and visitors to Saltburn for their understanding and support while we and our partners have carried out this work.”
Northumbrian Water has handed the site back to Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and work to expand the car park continues.
